Senior Payroll Accountant

Company: T-Rex Solutions, LLC

T-Rex Solutions is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant to join our back office team. This individual will collaborate closely with Accounting Management, Benefits Management, and People Operations teams. The ideal candidate has strong experience working within accounting teams, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrates a high level of integrity and commitment to company values.

Responsibilities

Process semi-monthly payrolls and occasional off-cycle payrolls
Review quarterly and year-end federal, state, and local payroll tax filings
Collaborate with payroll provider (ADP) to resolve filing issues
Manage payroll tax registrations and ensure accounts remain compliant
Coordinate with Benefits Manager to ensure accurate processing of employee benefits
Monitor timesheets and expense reports; process reimbursements
Conduct timesheet training for new hires
Perform periodic checks to ensure compliance with DCAA timesheet standards

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll
Knowledge of payroll regulations across multiple states (e.g., MD, DC, VA, CA, NY, NJ, OH, PA)
5+ years of accounting experience (general ledger, reconciliations, invoicing, accounts payable, financial close)
Experience with ADP payroll system
Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
Process improvement mindset

Desired Skills

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and/or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
Experience with Unanet general ledger and timesheet software

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $65,000 - $90,000 annually
